Absolutely terrible. If you're looking for real camping with anything even close to slight silence and the sounds of nature turn your car around and head north west. We waited years to get to Algonquin assuming it was all the pictures and the glory. Think not. Over crowded , loud, ignorant people partying all hours, sub par nature compared to the north west and completely wide open campsites. We couldn't find one we would want to camp at. Our suburbia camp neighbours are currently setting up a large sized video screen mounted from the trees for their party which includes at least a dozen people at one site alone. Overall this experience has been terrible. Some of the lower rates campgrounds are amazing in comparison and offer privacy and nature at its best. Algonquin isn't all it's cracked up to be just because of its history. At one point I'm sure it was great but this isn't our idea of camping.

Loved Pog Lake!! Lots of great sites nestled in among the tall pines - creates the perfect camp setting. The facilities were clean and the park well maintained. The beach at Pog Lake isn't great but there are other beaches within a 10 minute drive (Lake of Two Rivers). Great hiking trails nearby as well ranging from east to moderately difficult.

Pog Lake at Algonquin Park is so beautiful and perfect for swimming and canoeing and there are some campsite facing lake. Washrooms were very clean during our visit. Always book the canoe online in advance or be there at the lake at 8.30am and Algonquin outfitters arrives around at that time and you can rent it from them at the same time if they have some available.

Campsite was good, not as crowded as Lake of Two Rivers. Not too many mosquitoes. However, we went on the weekend, and there was a lot of noise coming from other campsites during the weekend. It may have been a party it seems. The noise continued past midnight, until about 2am on both Friday and Saturday night. My advice is to bring ear plugs! If noise doesn't bother you so much, then this is a good campsite. We kayaked at the Lake of Two Rivers, just because it's bigger and we went on the Lookout trail and the Beaver Pond Trail, both of which were GREAT!

Pog Lake is a fairly popular campground in the beautiful Algonquin Provincial Park.

This is probably the quietest and least densely populated area of the park that is not in the "back country" in other words for "car camping".

Pog Lake has some nice put-ins for light paddling as well as a beach for lounging during the day.

Be sure to choose your site carefully, I generally choose a radio and pet-free area as it is significantly quieter through the day and the evenings.
